The MCE is an interdisciplinary research center at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich. It aims to identify ethical challenges in society and science and seeks to address them in its research, teaching, and public events. MCE’s ethical research library encompasses about 3000 volumes. The center is supported by the Friends and Sponsors of the MCE (Freundeskreis des MKE e.V.), which is a non-profit foundation. more

This Term at MCE

Every semester, the MCE hosts a variety of events. The recurrent "Ethik-Forum" touches on issues at the interface of ethics and other disciplines. The "Munich Philosophical Colloquium" by the Department of Philosophy of LMU Munich is also regularly hosted by MCE. A number of lectures and conferences, organized by MCE and other institutions, attract renowned speakers and a large audience every semester. Finally, advanced seminars by Dr. Heilinger are offered to graduate students.
